This project explores experiences of interim pastors and congregations during intervals when these congregations are seeking to employ permanent pastors. Based on surveys of interim pastors and search committees, the project concludes that the work of interim pastors is important in promoting stability these congregations and in making the interim between permanent appointments a productive time in congregational life.
