Abstrato
  • Presbyterian preaching will be more sound theologically, and will more powerfully resonate in the lives of the people of God as Presbyterians attend to the musicality of speech in their preaching. The author addresses the Presbyterian tendency to approach preaching as a writing-based, cerebral exercise, rather than as a sound-based event that moves from the whole person to the whole person. Oral theory, contemporary homiletical theory, and the gifts of African American preaching are considered. A compact disc containing segments from African American preaching events accompanies the project.
