  • The thesis was that parents are primary faith communicators. Their effectiveness would be enhanced if they examined their faith journeys and forged a cooperative partnership with their church. The method of study was a combination of a learning-support group of parents who met to share needs and concerns and to test resources developed with a survey of selected parents in three different-sized United Methodist congregations. The result of the research was confirmation of the original thesis and a handbook for parents, which takes the form of twelve letters to parents and one to local church leaders.
