  • This project proposes an instructional guide to empower and prepare African American youth, 16-17 years old, for passage into adulthood in the twenty-first century. When African American youth learn more about their spiritual, cultural, and historical identity and heritage, and when they are equipped to make sapient, biblically based decisions, then their self-esteem and their personal confidence can be positively encouraged. The project links significant contributions of African American and biblical heroes and heroines to form the foundation for a historical, cultural, and spiritual approach to Christian rites of passage.
