The context of the research was the Cupey Baptist Church (Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico). Its ministry takes place at Venus Gardens, a community of about 1,500 families. The purpose of the thesis was to develop an educational program consisting of one introductory session and six weeks of lectures, workshops, a retreat and preaching service, to console and restore the lives of people who are suffering the experience of divorce. Divorced people had the opportunity to get together and learn what Matthew 19:1-12 and other texts teach on divorce. They were able to initiate or to further the process of restoring and healing of their lives.
