  • This project was designed to build positive images in the mind of African American males whose image is often negative as portrayed by the media in occupation and in the culture. It sought through tutelage to improve the cognitive skills of young African American males. The Sunday school period provided the modus for implementing this module. The methodology was to pair mentors with pupils, teaching Bible-based principles combined with an analysis of successful African American personalities. African American professional and business persons were also invited to address the group. Attitudes were changed relative to subject matters presented.
