It is important for pastors to have an understanding of the land of Palestine at the time of Jesus and to share that knowledge with parishioners. To support this thesis, the author draws upon numerous trips to the Holy Land, participation in an archaeological dig, and historical research. He presents a variety of resources by which the land can be made more 'real' to people of the parish. It is the conclusion of this project that parishioners are able to comprehend the scriptures with a clearer understanding through informed preaching and teaching about the land of Jesus.
