The problem of striking a balance between the demands of ministry and the family is a real problem in my denomination and the wider church. This project focuses on the challenges of pastoral responsibilities and family life, using the writer's personal experiences, discussions with other pastors and literature review, thus following the descriptive methodology. The research revealed that because of the need to fulfill what is expected of them, pastors find less time for their family and personal development. It further found that spouses and children feel neglected and abandoned for church work and therefore, need more of the pastor's presence in the home. The project postulated recommendations which can serve as guide for striking the balance.
