  • The purpose of this project is twofold: 1) to discover any homiletic styles which may help facilitate the reception of prophetic or liberation preaching; 2) to tailor the content of such preaching for a first world congregation. Research consists of: a) a practicum of four sermons and written and oral evaluations of the sermons by ten congregants and three professors; b) an analysis of the feedback. It concludes that narrative preaching is a style which can be very helpful in facilitating the reception and understanding of prophetic preaching. Effective prophetic preaching should be biblical, engaging, contextualized and challenging.
