  • This is an evaluation of the Community Bible Reader (CBR). The CBR has two readings per week for a three year cycle. The first weekly reading follows the biblical narrative from Genesis to Revelation covering the main characters and themes in the Bible story. There is a year each for the Pentateuch, the Monarchy/Exile and the Gospels/Acts. The second readings are from the epistolary, prophetic, poetic or didactic material. The readings are introduced and connected with framing statements. The CBR is evaluated here for its representation of the Bible message and usefulness as a ministry tool in a church worship service.
