  • This project seeks to determine faith traditions important to worship experiences of 100 residents in the long-term care unit of a midwestern regional medical center. Responsive residents were surveyed, results were prioritized, and elements of the pastoral care program were modified. A variety of worship traditions were incorporated in the interdenominational worship service for 60 participating residents and family members. Some wanted formal Bible study, while others asked for a focused prayer meeting. The residents valued pastoral visits and memorial services for friends who died.
