  • This project suggests that an effective way to lead a church to grow or change is through small task groups. Innovations that may increase effectiveness may be planned and implemented when small task groups are empowered to lead these processes. Nine church leaders concentrated on assimilation of prospective members. At the end of one year, evaluation revealed that 49.3 percent of first-time visitors to the church had assimilated to the point that they identified the church as their church of attendance or belonging. The process succeeds due to efforts and influence of a small group of leaders.
