Abstract
  • This project argues that guidelines can be developed for Christian meditation which, without violating either, incorporate yoga meditation into Christian prayer. The author developed seven guidelines, which deal with grace, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, God, creation, neighbor, and Bible. He used lay and clergy advisory groups, interviews with knowledgeable persons, perusal of major works in the field, and personal experience to develop and test these guidelines and practices based upon them. The thesis concludes that the guidelines show a way that the Christian can integrate yoga meditation into Christian prayer.
