- Abstract
- The question of how to do ministry in a town centered on the university had been a part of the 104 year old relationship between First Baptist Church of Clemson, SC, and Clemson University. This Doctor of Ministry project describes ways for First baptist Church to maintain an awareness of both the spiritually relevant aspects of football and those attributes that conflict with the missio Dei in which the church is called to participate. Utilizing James D. and Evelyn Eaton Whitehead's method in ministry model, the project offers a three point plan for navigating the sports culture.
