  • A spiritual formation experience was prepared that emphasized Wesley's means of grace. The hypothesis was that persons who participated in the experience would be better equipped to provide leadership in the church. Two groups participated: a test group and a control group. Both groups completed the Spiritual Leadership Qualities Inventory before and after the experience. The scores revealed improvement in seven of nineteen leadership characteristics in the test group. Eighty percent of the test group believed their readiness for leadership increased. Both quantitative and qualitative findings demonstrated this experience was a viable means of equipping persons for leadership.
