Abstracto

This project presents a local theology of struggle in order to respond in faith to the violent culture of exclusion and disempowerment of the Orang Asli in Malaysia. In conversation with experience, culture, and Christian faith, the project describes and analyzes the complexities of the Malaysian reality, bringing that reality into dialogue with Christian theology so that a pastoral response to the specific context can emerge. That pastoral response challenges believers from the dominant society in Malaysia to enter into a cross-cultural solidarity with the Orang Asli, in order to invent a counterculture of inclusion and empowerment of the Orang Asli.
