  • This project introduces group participants to understanding depression through the use and appreciation of mood modification techniques. The mood modification techniques include a strong emotive content. The participants learned through a scripturally-based 'supportive approach' to learning, an approach that balances cognition and emotion. Those participating increased control of their life through responsibility to and initiation of their own and facilitated ideas and procedures. The group completed the project equipped to cope with various issues related to depression: suicide, guilt, anger, and self-esteem.
