Abstract
  • In the first-century church, the apostle Paul employed a collaborative leadership approach as he co-labored with God and other Christians. The author contends that Paul's collaborative style can be a positive factor in promoting church revitalization. A declining-membership suburban mainline-denomination congregation served as a case study for collaborative leadership in ministry. The author, who was the pastor, served as a role model of a collaborative leader for co-workers who were in key lay leadership positions. At the conclusion of the six-month study, the first fruits indicated that collaborative leadership can be an effective tool for church revitalization.
