  • Statements of the problem, setting, theological, and theoretical rationals are given. Project objectives center in 'active listening' and 'I' messages undergirded by two biblical principles. Eight training sessions, two hours per session, are conducted during a period of two months with five couples participating. Subjective and objective evaluations are conducted. 'Active listening' becomes established practice for nine of ten participants. Attitude change allows participants to listen with empathy and respond without judgement or criticism. The workshop setting, a supportive group, and spiritual resources are seen as vital factors for establishment of desired behavior change.
