  • Increasingly, more Christian communities and faith-based institutions in the United States are sponsoring community gardens in order to live out their various missions faithfully. The goal of this Doctor of Ministry project involved researching two case studies of church-sponsored community gardens and one case study of a community garden sponsored by a Christian college that were created between 2003-2012 in order to discern some best practices for launching a Christ-centered community garden. The results of this research, which are described in the conclusion of this project, involve constructing a definition of Christ-centered community gardening and identifying fifteen best practices for launching a Christ-centered community garden.
