  • This project presents a view of the first thirty years in the life of a Lutheran congregation in Newtown, Connecticut, from the perspective of a word picture. Research for the project was completed through interviews of parish members, of area Lutheran clergy and of pastors who had served Christ the King congregation and their family members. The project concludes that the growth and development of the congregation is due to its balancing its denominational identity with an emphasis on local community identification and interaction.
