This project is a study of a process of conflict recovery for local churches. Some churches today are experiencing decline which can be partly ascribed to the unresolved conflicts within the church. When conflict does occur, lay and clergy leaders do not have the training to deal with conflict and therefore react quickly and ineffectively. The project presents a case study in which one church in conflict participated in the study and educational events which taught some basic components of conflict management: conflict occurs in God's family; conflict can be a positive influence and opportunity for renewal; and, conflict signals a brokenness in relationship which needs to be reconciled just as Christ reconciled the world to himself. The conclusion drawn from this project is that with training and education, people's ideas about anger and conflict can change, thereby facilitating a constructive conflict management process.
