Abstract
  • The purpose of this project is to develop a system to be used within the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church for the identification and purchase of appropriate sites for the establishment of new local congregations. The study presents 1) a theological statement on the nature, mission and purpose of the church as it relates to the establishment of new congregations; 2) a survey of issues relevant to the establishment of new congregations; 3) a process for the identification, selection and purchase of property to be used for new congregations; and 4) additional issues related to the establishment of new congregations.
