This project proposes effective strategies for Christian evangelism in Bangkok, Thailand, based on studies of 27 churches that have grown numerically by at least 50 percent per decade. Surveys of the congregations reveal that personal friendship is the best way to communicate and that printed materials--tracts and books--are the most useful evangelistic media. These Bangkok churches overcome hindrances in communicating difficult concepts by illustrating them with personal testimonies. These churches teach members to evangelize by training them one-on-one in telephone and house visitations. Churches using these methods should communicate gradually with gentleness, courtesy, and respect.
