Abstract
  • In order to enhance the spiritual life in the congregation of Asbury Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, Topeka, Kansas, the researcher formed five spiritual formation groups of three led by five trained spiritual friends. Groups attended ten weekly sessions of prayer and Wednesday night Bible study. The evaluation of the weekly meetings indicated that members of groups meeting for prayer and Bible study on a consistent basis will have some degree of spiritual growth, and bond with each other which leads to a more spiritual congregation.
