  • This ministry research project develops and adopts a mission statement and vision statement for Shockoe Baptist Church, Chatham, Virginia. Chapter one examines the context of this rural church. Chapter two examines the biblical, theological and historical material associated with the nature and the purpose of the church, proposing that the church should be involved in worship, evangelism, discipleship, ministry and fellowship. Chapter three examines contemporary material on the development and implementation of a mission statement and vision statement. Specific steps for the development of each statement are included and the process of implementation is discussed. Chapter four provides a detailed report of the completion of the project, examining each step carefully. Chapter five evaluates the project.
