This ministry research project develops and adopts a mission statement and vision statement for Shockoe Baptist Church, Chatham, Virginia. Chapter one examines the context of this rural church. Chapter two examines the biblical, theological and historical material associated with the nature and the purpose of the church, proposing that the church should be involved in worship, evangelism, discipleship, ministry and fellowship.
