Abstracto

The principles of modern psychologists (Freud, Jung, Frankl, Sullivan, Adler) are applied to psychologically troubled clients in a marriage and family therapy center. The author's personal development as a therapist is discussed beginning with hiss Irish family and Catholic theological training. Growth continued as a high school teacher, hospital chaplain, parish priest and finally a therapist. Special treatment is given to communication, addiction, DSM-III classification and spiritual direction. Augustinian and biblical teaching are highlighted. Every effort is made to keep the family together. My conclusion is that the modern psychologist has much to offer but Christ is the divine guide for the family.
