  • This project proposes that when members of a local congregation function in concert as the Body of Christ to provide purposeful leadership to the whole body they can remove barriers that inhibit persons from volunteering for leadership in the church. The project integrates the work of the administrative board, executive committee, committee on nominations and personnel, and worship committee of a United Methodist congregation as each analyzes issues and seeks solutions to lack of leaders. The entire congregation realizes unexpected benefits when several committees work in partnership to solve the needs of one committee.
