Abstract
  • 'As the pastor of a 'younger-aged' congregation, how do I lead in the spiritual development of elementary school-aged children?' This question is the driving force behind this project and can be divided into three distinct components. The first component deals with the pastor as leader. The pastor above any other person should be the 'spiritual influencer' within the local church. The second component deals with the overall spiritual formation of the congregation. The third component deals with the spiritual development of elementary school-aged children. To address the third component, without giving adequate attention to the first two, would be a futile attempt at fixing a problem in our church that is deep and multi-faceted. By addressing the three components mentioned above through research, survey, training of the laity and dialogue, a specific plan of action has been put in place.
