  • This project explores the theological and theoretical linkage of self-disclosure, interpersonal intimacy, and individuality, defined as self-concept. Action research utilizing an experimental and a control group tested the proposal that reciprocal self-disclosure acts as a catalyst in facilitating intimacy and individuality. Pre- and posttests employed the Group Environment Scale and the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale. Based on a significance level of .05, the experimental group revealed a significant increase in self-disclosure. The control group did not. Neither group demonstrated significant statistical changes in intimacy and individuality. The three-month project provided an insufficient longitudinal study of the proposal.
