- The purpose of this study was marital satisfaction among clergy couples. Of the seventy-two evangelical and non-evangelical clergy couples who completed the Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS) and the Index of Marital Satisfaction (IMS) self-tests, the main issues of concern identified were: financial, religious, and affectional. With minimal seminar and follow-up participation, after these self-tests, the Transtheoretical model developed by Prochaska and Norcross (2003) was incorporated. In the future, utilizing the DAS and IMS is essential; however, the Transtheoretical model needs to be added to identify the current level of change in order to move through the five change stages for lasting change to occur.
