- People undergoing changes in their lives benefit in a variety of ways when they attend a six-week course in Christian doctrine. Pre-tests, post-tests, observations and interviews were used to determine the effects of a course entitled 'The Meaning of Life' on a control group. Story theology offered the theological perspective. It was demonstrated that people in transition, including Lutheran transfers who attend, will gain a better understanding of themselves, others and God; a growth in faith; a sense of fellowship with others who join the church at the same time; and a strengthening of their relationship with the pastor who teaches the course.
