  • This project combined a study of personal and social holiness (informed by scripture and John Wesley's 'Plain Account of Christian Perfection') with a church's self-study and long-range plan in order to assist a local congregation in developing a mission statement. After the local congregation participated in a detailed process of self-study and the pastor preached a series of sermons, based on lectionary texts, focusing on the meaning of the call to love God 'perfectly,' a long-range plan was approved which funded both a continuum of ministries and renovated facilities.
