The writer proposes a blended discipline for conceptualization of pastoral group therapy. The blend consists of theological issues from a pastoral counseling perspective and Irvin Yalom's theory of group therapy from a secular stance. Academic research draws from works by some of the founders of pastoral counseling in this country and from Yalom's book on group therapy.
