Abstracto

The purpose of this project in ministry was to develop a teaching curriculum to equip selected adult Sunday school leaders at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Huntsville, Alabama, to use emotional intelligence competencies in ministry. The project director implemented the project with selected adult leaders in the Sunday school at Mount Zion Baptist Church who desired to increase their understanding and skills in using the four components of emotional intelligence. Before the six-session workshop, participants completed the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal [registered symbol] as a pretest and post-test. Workshop sessions explored the present need for emotional intelligence in ministry; self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management as they relate to ministry. Personal emotional intelligence scores increased in all but one participant.
