Abstrait

This project in ministry focused upon training lay couselors, in the Sunday school program of a church, for counseling on death and grief. The project was developed through a series of eight two-hour sessions which were designed to provide lay counselors with insight, information, and techniques from theology, psychology, and sociology. To determine the effectiveness of such a program several methods of evaluation were used, including a pretest and posttest which were evaluated by a two-tailed t-test for correlated groups. Results indicate that the program was successful in providing participants with skills, knowledge, and confidence.
