  • The purpose of this research project is to define the Native American medicine wheel and illustrate its use as a tool for diagnosis and treatment in contemporary pastoral counseling. This qualitative study examines the cultural context within which the wheel has originated, examines the psychological and theological dimensions of the wheel, and describes its use in pastoral counseling by presenting case studies where the wheel has been introduced to client and/or therapist to facilitate the therapeutic healing process.
