  • Violence permeates American society. The availability of guns, fueled by an ethos that it is an American right to bear arms, makes the land fertile for carnage of all sorts. The African American community is the one community that seems to have more of its share of deaths by homicide. The African American male is the one group that suffers from homicide in a staggering rate. He is more likely to die from homicide between the ages of 15 and 44 than any other American group. Young African American males fueled by ethos, drug culture, poverty, unequal opportunity and an unfair criminal justice system are dying at an alarming rate.
