Abstract
  • The purpose of this project is to work with a task force to develop a preaching style that will engage the interest of the congregation. The author researched the art of preaching as performed by clergy in the academic world and local church pulpit. The communication skills learned were applied to three sermons which were discussed by the task force. Following evaluation, the author synthesized those elements that engage the interest of this congregation. The approach the author has taken provides a model by which other students will be able to synthesize these lessons into a style which is uniquely their own.
