- 'A course in holistic Christian conversion' was developed to help unchurched people and seekers process the claims of Christ and then make a holistic commitment to Him. Chapter 1 included an overview of Harpeth Community Church, along with the rationale, limitations, and a statement of purpose of the project. Chapter 2 examined the theological basis for 'holistic Christian conversion' and featured a detailed look at biblical prayer, the Word of God for conversion purposes, and some of the needs presented by unbelievers before their conversion. Chapter 3 detailed the process of conversion, and included several popular and new scales for measuring the spiritual condition of the unbeliever. Several popular conversion programs were examined in detail. Chapter 4 introduced materials developed for the course, a meeting format, pre-training for Christians who join the class as helpters, and an overview of the actual course material. Chapter 5 concluded the project with an analysis of the program, the volunteers that participated, and the conversion of spiritual seekers. Other topics included the eventual improvement of the course for broader usage and the furtherance of the study in the future. The project was developed as an attempt to provide a better alternative to the Alpha course for broad use within the Restoration Movement. The course and project were very successful and the goals were realized.
