  • The study and analysis of the returning inactive Catholic parishioner proposes that the majority of returning parishioners have specific needs unique to the postmodern Christian. They desire a friendly, faith filled community that has an affirming and welcoming pastoral staff. The project methodology uses exploratory questions for the self-administered questionnaire, focus groups and personal interviews. The data analysis of the variables resulted in the following conclusions: 96% of the returnees actively search for a parish; they want a pastor who preaches and prays well; they want to be involved in ministry both within and beyond the parish. Finally they leave because of relocation or unfriendly pastor and membership.
