Abstract
  • In the same way that some journalists used embedded reporting to relate the most intimate stories of the U.S. war with Iraq, I have undertaken to use the embedded methodology in a spiritual practicum to free an urban family. This project questioned whether the Beulah Land Community Church could intervene and interrupt the cycles of destruction of a four-generation family. I propose that the theology of Black liberation is a good theoretical place to begin to think about how to achieve such a goal. I apply this theology, as one with the potential to be a theology of wholeness when it moves from theory to practice, in this real-life situation, through embedded spirituality.
