  • The purpose of this dissertation is to evaluate Mark Dever's ecclesiology and its implications for Southern Baptist churches today. This analysis compares and contrasts Mark Dever's ecclesiology with New Testament teaching, as well as the ecclesiology of J. L. Dagg, a prominent nineteenth century Southern Baptist theologian. Dever's ecclesiology provides a robust view of church membership, which is needed in many Southern Baptist churches. The dissertation concludes with suggestions for additional research.
