- Abstract
- When a pastor finds that a particular church is bothering him/her more than usual, he/she may be caught in countertransference, in addition to the fact that the church is difficult. The aim, through individual interviews of pastors and a group session, was to determine if there is a recreation of family of origin issues by the pastor while interacting with the church. The conclusion is that there is strong evidence of the unconscious projection, onto the difficult church, of pastors' personality dynamics, developed in relation to their family of origin and triggered by the personality dynamics of the church.
