  • This project discusses the suppression of the feminine as divine imago in terms of cultural misogyny, the social and spiritual imbalance in persons and the devalued woman's perspective and experience. It provides 'course correction' for male-centered bias in Christian ministry. The study uses depth psychology as found in the theories of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. It takes a symbolic approach to Christian theology. Its three parts are: the feminine as mode of being; the feminine as archetype; and the feminine in religious experience. Case studies include: a pregnant teenager; a man who murders a girl; a misogynist clergyman facing mid-life crisis; a clergywoman discovering the Goddess.
