The thesis chronicles the work of a task force appointed February 1989 to: a) recommend new regional directions; b) develop a value-driven mission statement; and c) assist a regional executive committee in its planning process. In its one year life, the task force also distributed and analyzed a questionnaire sent to regional membership and produced a regional history covering twelve years. The thesis: a) reviews recent ACPE context; b) summarizes task force meetings; c) offers Eriksonian developmental perspectives on recent ACPE history; d) describes survey instrument; e) analyzes that instrument; f) sets recent events in twelve-year context; g) lists recommendations for next twelve years; and h) reflects on theological implications.
