- Abstract
- The thesis of this project is that the church culture of a mono-ethnic congregation can be, and in most cases, should be transformed to one that embraces and pursues ethnic and cultural diversity. The project results were mixed, but mostly encouraging. Project participants were challenged and stretched regarding their attitudes, perceptions and theology. They became aware of essential diversity issues and personal behaviors that were incongruent with appropriate belief. They were inspired and empowered to participate and take ownership in initiating change of their own culture. The results show that culture transformation is feasible, but a gradual and tedious process.
