- Abstract
- Believing mature Christian faith is a developmental process, the purpose of this project was to help persons move toward mature discipleship (faith and action) through identifying and strengthening faith development skills (Bible study, prayer, devotional life, etc). The intentional process included an invitation to and a decision to participate, workshops in skills, mentoring, and evaluation. Skills, taught in 'Growth Sessions', gave practice through group and individual processes. Support through mentoring and evaluation was very important in encouraging persons in their growth. Participants gained confidence in themselves and their faith, maturing toward the single-minded obedience that is discipleship.
