  • The author's thesis is that church leaders must understand the composition of their parish community and what residents believe and think if they are to be successful in building attractive bridge-programs which reach into their community with the gospel. This study shows that the context of the local church is now the mission field. Therefore, evangelism must be a major element in the mission of the local church. A socioeconomic and cultural study shows this community is much more diverse than people think. Therefore, the church must be far more intentional and diverse in its contextual ministry. This study provides models and methods.
